Top Nigerian music producer and singer, Babatunde Okungbowa, popularly called OJB Jezreel has been reported dead. He died this morning after suffering from a relapse of the kidney disease he successfully operated upon three years ago.
A family source disclosed the artist behind such hits as Searching and Pretete died at his home in Lagos.
The source said OJB had a relapse about two weeks ago and had to be placed on dialysis, which cost N35, 000 (thirty-five thousand naira) weekly. His situation worsened on Monday leading to his death in the early hours of today.
OJB Jazreel would have been 50 years old in a month’s time.

Down memory lane, OJB started battling the kidney disease since June, 2013. He left Nigeria for India on Friday, August 23, 2013, after a successful fund raising campaign that fetched him over N26 million, much more than he needed for the kidney transplant.
